2008 Course Dates

The best buddy one can ever have is a self-reliant diver who not only can manage themselves, but can assist other people in difficult circumstances. The skills you will learn in the PADI Rescue Diver Course will expand your knowledge of diving, increase your level of diving skills, and make you more aware of what is happening around you in the diving environment. Prerequisites: 15 Years of age or older PADI Advanced Open Water Certification or equivalent PADI Emergency First Response or proof of current CPR certification Course Structure Classroom: The PADI Rescue Diver Manual is designed for self-study. There are review questions to be answered and turned in at the end of each section. Questions you may encounter, while reading the text, will be answered by your instructor. A final exam will be administered and a score of 75% or more must be attained. Pool Sessions: There will be three, 2 hour pool sessions conducted in our on-site pool to prepare the student for their open water training. Open Water Diving: The open water training is comprised of 10 open water exercises and 2 scenarios conducted over a two day period. The following will be performed during these dives: COST: $175.00   Response to a tired diver.  Panicked diver at the surface.  Response to a conscious victim from shore/boat.  Distressed diver underwater.  Search for a missing diver.  Surfacing the unconscious diver.  Response to an unconscious diver.  Egress with an unconscious diver.  First aid for pressure-related accidents.  Response to an unconscious victim from shore/boat.    Included All class and pool sessions Two days of open water training with a certified PADI instructor Tanks, weights, and weight belts. Assistance from the instructor on problems with the required reading material before your final exam 10% discount on all diving equipment purchased during your term as a student (course materials, sale items, and equipment rentals excluded) Not Included Diving gear for the open water dives - BCD, regulator, wet suit, etc... but may be rented during the course Transportation, meals, and accommodations for the open water dives Pocket Mask ($24.95) PADI Rescue Diver Student kit, including manual, DVD, accident management slate ($73.19) PADI certification fee to process your C-Card plus a passport-sized photo, taken at the completion of the course ($30.00 + photo)
