High Altitude Specialty
Diving in Colorado and New Mexico requires special altitude consideration. The PADI
Altitude Diver course is designed to help you develop the skills, knowledge and techniques
for our local diving environment.
Prerequisite:
- 12 years of age or older
- PADI Open Water or Junior Open Water certification or equivalent
Open Water Diving: Two open water dives
with a certified PADI instructor are required to complete the PADI Altitude
Diver course. Open waters are available at the Blue Hole or locally at
the Aurora Reservoir - see schedule.
Included:
- Two open water dives with a certified PADI instructor
- Tanks, weights and weight belts. 10% discount on all diving equipment
purchased during your term as a student (course materials, sale items
and equipment rentals excluded).
Not Included:
- Diving gear for the open water dives - BCD, regulator, wet suit, etc.. but may be rented
during the course.
- Transportation, meals, and accommodations for the open water dives.
- PADI "Adventures in Diving" advanced student kit.
- Altitude Conversion Tables.
- PADI certification fee to process your C-Card plus one 1 3/4" X 1 1/4"
passport quality photo taken at the completion of the course.
The PADI Altitude Diver course was designed for the local diving conditions of Colorado.
If you plan to continue diving the lakes, quarries, rivers and reservoirs here at high
altitude, this course will give you the added safety and comfort needed to really enjoy
our local diving environment.
