Bonaire is the Eastern-most Caribbean island in the “ABC” island chain, comprised of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. Located in the Netherlands Antilles, the island is 40 miles north of Venezuela and is 112 square miles. Long known as one of the Caribbean’s most outstanding dive destinations, Bonaire has something for everyone. It has beautiful shallow coral gardens teeming with brightly colored fish life, dramatic walls of hard and soft corals, and a large variety of unusual marine life. The shore diving in Bonaire is plentiful and easily accessible allowing the most avid divers the opportunity to do as much diving as they want. Bonaire has been voted for the sixth straight year-in-a-row, the #1 Top Dive Destination Overall (Caribbean/Atlantic) in the Scuba Diving Magazine’s Readers Choice Awards 2008. Bonaire also received the #1 rating in five other Caribbean/Atlantic categories. Even for the non-divers there is plenty to see such as the hundreds of wild flamingos, picturesque villages and even a pink beach.

DATES:
Depart Denver Friday, October 24th, 2008
Return to Denver Saturday, November 1st, 2008

ACCOMMODATIONS:

We’ll be staying at the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort. There are 2 room categories that we will be using at The Flamingo Beach, Ocean Front rooms or Studio Apartments, all at the same price. All rooms are air conditioned with private bath, refrigerator, coffee maker, and in-room safe. The Ocean Front rooms are right on the water with a private balcony overlooking the gorgeous Caribbean Ocean. The Studio rooms have private balconies overlooking the pool, and are larger and with a full kitchen.

DIVING:
Year after year, Bonaire is consistently rated THE BEST shore diving in the world. Reefs are always an easy swim from shore and the best sites are well marked. Six days of two tank boat dives (five of these days will have an additional 1 tank boat dive) and UNLIMITED beach diving will fully enable us to take advantage of the legendary Bonaire diving. The water is warm and in the 80’s and is generally flat calm. This lack of surface turbulence and the fact that Bonaire’s surrounding reef wall lies directly offshore, makes Bonaire one of the world’s easiest and most enjoyable dive destinations.
